At least this article was honest enough to show it as a press release. I agree with grapebed's comments above - and VT_Syrup's about the notary likely being in VA. Sadly, I've yet to see any credible organized effort to counter the claims made by these press releases. Only time will tell if lenders - and the general public - will accept the concept of remote notarization. It seems, though, that the younger the signer, the more likely they are to be OK with that process.

It may take some kind of legal action before the issue is fully addressed. But as I've often said before, I'm among those who believe there's a real possibility that this process may replace a major portion of the loan signing business over time.
