I can only think of two possibilities that explains most notaries taking those fees: 1) They're mostly only doing easy Quicken loans within a sensible distance (or negotiating more if in a rural area and at a distance), or 2) they have no idea what they actually net...

No offense intended to anyone. There may be other reasons I can't think of. (Low cost of living possibly?) But I concluded it wasn't worth it to me a long time ago... Wink In fairness, I should add that I have the opportunity to make up a nice chunk of the difference with GNW. But if that's not an option for you, you might want to read the thread above started by Cheryl about a "wake up call for notaries"...
