the real estate agent is present. I've been through everything you have described and there is this overwhelming tendency for them to micromanage the closing and throw in some condescending looks and remarks. I once had an agent call me "unprofessional" in front of everyone in the room (buyers, sellers, l.o.) just because I wouldn't "explain" how they calculated all the figures on the Settlement Statement. I prefer one on one closings with either the buyer or seller in their homes or at a place like Starbucks. In my almost 10 years of closings I think there has only been one agent I dealt with that was actually nice, respectable, and more laid back. It was the smoothest purchase closing ever and only involved a single buyer.
