Re: VT is recent, within past 30 days

I think Lee/AR is correct, there haven't been any threads about law changes in VT with respect to attorneys and closings, but there have been threads about the new law passed in CT.

There haven't been any recent law changes in VT because the legislature has not been in session since the end of May.

In my mind, calling states attorney or non-attorney is too simplistic. I know that I don't accept appointments for notarizations for purchases unless attorneys will be present, because in VT these are usually table-funded. All parties are making decisions on-the-spot, so any parties not physically present need to be represented by an attorney. In contrast, for a re-fi that's settled through an escrow process, the only ones making decisions on-the-spot are the borrowers, so it's their show.
