I'm have a hard time understanding why so many people are surprised by the existence of the CFPB. It's not like the government tried to sneak it past us - as Hugh said, it's been in the news for at least a year, and most recently because the Republicans have been trying to kill it, delay it, or strip it of the powers it was given when the measure was signed into law A YEAR AGO...

Doesn't anyone follow the news anymore???
