Potential client wants a "Powerful Attorney" for a 5 year old that is the step-son of her incarcerated husband who has guardianship of the kid via court docs, biological mother gave up rights. She wants me to go to the jail, have the husband sign the POA on behalf of the underage kid to her.

I advised her to call an attorney. Am I reading more in to this than I should, or is it just a simple case of check the guardianship papers and if the father's name is there and everything is legit then he simply signs the POA on behalf of the kid to the wife/sort-of-mother.

I wish I had recorded the call. With all the detail and life history she gave me, it would be internet GOLD (Just kidding, I don't post client's calls online)
