took me a while to discover I was underselling myself, like 4 months. Suddenly, I had no time to work for the low ball SSs, only direct work. I met a notary online who lived in North Hollywood, and we worked as a team to garner those $175+ signings. Once you make a good impression on your local title/escrow people, they will refer you to any of their other offices (statewide and nationally) who call looking for a preferred notary in your area. It's all about rapport building. Once you've established a relationship with one office, good news travels, they like your mannerisms, demeanor and how you handle their clients.
Focus, set goals, achieve them. If you continue to work for people who dictate your low fees, you'll never make a profit at this business. I'm completely astounded that so many horrible companies have stayed in business all these years, offering low fees and treating notaries badly.
