Years ago I had a disagreement with a lender and title company over a signature. I reviewed my own state notary laws and then arranged a conference call with the title and SOS office. I was right but it took regulatory authority to convince the title company and lender. State notary law is the authority and very little discretion is allowed although I too love those doctor signatures of unreadable celestial cursive.
