The only time I say anything, and I am even re-thinking this, is if the BO signs legibly and the docs have, for example, full middle or with middle initial and they are used to signing just first, last.
If I can read it, as in its legible, then I ask them to sign as doc is written. if they have a squiggle and tell me it represent their name as shown on the docs, then we are good to go.

Its difficult for most to sign anything differently that what they are used to and IMHO to require legibility when some are incapable of that seems like a recipe for errors.

I had a gal once who took five tries on the signature affidavit to sign her name as appeared. no lie!
