If a paid member decides they want to remain anonymous, they can uncheck the box next to their forum alias to disconnect the link to their personal profile. The first several years I was a member here, I kept that box unchecked.

For whatever it's worth, I eventually changed it for two reasons. First, several people went on rants about folks who posted anonymously. Then someone mentioned that the link to their profile helped them get business because of the reputation they'd developed. I'm not really opposed to people posting under an alias and keeping their business identity separate from their forum identity (in fact, for some, it's a really, really good idea... Wink), but for myself, I decided it wasn't a big deal anymore, especially because of the experience I'd acquired. Mostly, though, I wanted to maximize any benefits I could get from here.
