something that also occured to me was that the thing that might upset the apple cart with regard to remote notarization is a lawsuit by someone trying to get out of their mortgage. They might challenge the validity of a remote signing by a VA notary electronically in a state which does not allow remote notarization. The first fully electronic closing was for an Illinois property. IL does not allow remote notarization by IL notaries. Was the notarization legal. I would think that it would be a valid challenge in court. |
