I always charge full fee if I print the documents and travel to the signers location. As uninterested parties to a signing, we become interested parties if our pay is contingent on whether or not they sign the documents.
You put the time, travel costs and printing costs into this closing. In addition, you most likely turned down other closings to facilitate this one. If they don't sign, it is NOT your fault. If you do the work, you get paid. PERIOD. You know very well that these companies get paid much more than you for your services. If they don't have a cushion to pay you in these circumstances, they have not business being in this profession. JMHO. |
