I agree with Linda H. Have the daughter find out if you need an apostille. For lack of a better term, it is the SOS "certifying" that you are in fact a notary licensed to practice in your state. I had an attorney call me from Germany on an estate issue and he needed the woman who lived here to sign. He didn't tell me I would need that so I had to go back and get that done. He paid me for it, but it was still a pain because she was a lonely little old German lady who clearly didn't get much company and thoroughly enjoyed the company she did get, lol. I also agree with the comment about checking your state laws regarding guardianship too, just to cya and all bases. :-)
