The Closer LLC has gone downhill. They lowball notaries and really don't care about notaries overall. I accepted a signing in Los Angeles. I live in Orange County. The signing was at 7:30 am. on a Friday. I left home at 5:25 am and the I-5 and I-10 were like parking lots as downtown neared. I got off the freeway and used the surface streets. The loan package was large (close to 200 pages) and I printed two sets. I called the Borrower and left a message that I was going to be late because of the very bad traffic. I called again because I had to leave a voice mail the first time. The wife answered and I explained that I would be late because of the traffic, about 15-20 minutes. She proceeded to tell me that she had to go to her office and couldn't wait. She hung up. I called back and tried to explain to her that I had been on the road for over two hours and would be there shortly. She yelled at me and said she was going to her office and handed the phone to her husband who proceeded to tell me that his wife had to go to her office. I asked him if she could sign the papers at her office. He yelled at her and I heard her say no. I was shocked. Fourteen years as a notary and I never had anything like that happen to me.
I called The Closer and asked to speak to the manager. I couldn't get him on the phone because he was supposedly talking to the title company about this fiasco. I called the title company and told them what happened. They said they were not faulting me at all, that the Borrowers were unreasonable people. I NEVER got a call from the manager Kevin. Not interested in doing anymore signings for The Closer LLC anymore. |
