I signed a $1,000,000 heloc package with a couple who invest in high end properties for Airbnb in Santa Barbara last quarter. They had a lot of takers during the fire season, didn't even have to advertise. All the motel/hotel rooms in SB were booked, people even had to leave the area for temporary housing. If you have something to rent out, you're in the perfect storm. I have a lot of friends who are living in their granny flats, or M-I-L quarters and renting out the big house...downsizing, minimalizing.
I wish I had invested in commercial real estate decades ago, I would be a multimillionare by now. Trading up and buying a bigger property with a larger ROI...I'd be sittin' pretty. My day is coming, hopefully.
