I think I'll give it a try. It bothers me that two different people in the same place can search for the exact same thing and get different results. I believe that what's intended to be helpful by giving people more of what some algorithm decides they want, in actuality is limiting the information we get. (Makes it more difficult to check on how we show up when others search for our services, too.)
I suspect it's even a contributor to some of the polarization we're seeing, not only here, but around the world. Everyone gets info that builds on what they've previously expressed interest in, then that becomes self-fulfilling, as that point of view only gets further and further supported with additional searches (and news feeds...) After a while, it's like being in a bubble. Once in a while, I like seeing new ideas or being exposed to different points of view.
[BTW, this is not intended to be political. And it's the weekend, so I hope it's OK to think about some slightly different stuff for a sec... Also hope you're all having a good one!]
