Steve Bannon is out of Breitbart and has also been kicked off his daily program on Sirius/XM radio. He seriously overplayed his hand, thinking he was going to be the new Republican king-maker but failing dismally with Roy Moore. And then he made the fatal mistake of dissing Trump and his family; at that point, he basically became Fredo from "The Godfather".
Bannon never denied saying the things about Trump and his family that were attributed to him in Michael Wolffe's book, "Fire and Fury". What he did was offer a really lame apology that was clearly not accepted by Trump or Trump's backers. in the space of a day or two, Bannon went from being the possible unshaven face of the new Republican Party to a pariah - he lost his platform, he lost his supporters, and he lost his financial backing. He just became a non-entity, simply because he couldn't keep his mouth shut.
Will Bannon ever make it back as a force in politics? Hard to tell; it looks bleak right now, but I've learned that you can never say never when it comes to politics.
Those of us of a certain age will remember Richard Nixon's statement to the press that "you don't have Nixon to kick around anymore, because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference." That was in 1962 when he lost the race for governor of CA. He later went on to be elected president 10 years later.
