It's not clear who in the GOP leaked the Comey memos to the press less than an hour after DOJ turned them over to the House Intelligence Committee, but one of two things is clear about that individual who did the leaking - either he didn't read them before leaking them, or he's just an imbecile.
And yes, it was the GOP who leaked (probably Nunes) - the memos went to them and not to the Dems.
The memos DO NOT exonerate Trump of anything and don't even mention possible collusion. What they DO show is that Comey has been consistent in everything he has said to date, plus they add a couple of things he hasn't mentioned before. If anything, they make Trump look worse rather than better and also strengthen the case for obstruction of justice.
The general consensus among journalists and pundits has been "what the heck were they thinking by leaking this stuff?" They've accomplished the exact opposite of what they wanted to do, which was to discredit Comey. EVERYTHING he has said or written about his experience is supported by these memos.
