| Found out today by personal experience that if you have a credit freeze or fraud alert on your account, you cannot access Social Security's MySocialSecurity website - they use the credit bureaus to validate your identity, so if your file is locked, they won't let you create an account. I was told I could go to the local Social Security office and get a special authorization code to get around the problem, but they're usually worse than the DMV and an hour away... |
