I tried the same and because my credit was frozen, I could not get that account from SS. It seems SS uses Equifax to verify the person who wants an account, the same company the IRS just declined to renew the contract from credit verification. It was nice to verify the credit freeze did the job I expected it to do.
I think you prevented anyone else from using your information to open an account in your name if your Equifax information was among the stolen information. |
