You will love it. We are going into rainy season so check to see when the rains come in there. Here in Orlando is mid afternoon, down in Boca was more Am showers, not sure in the keys. Never heard of wild chickens, but plenty of Hemingway's 6 toed cats. Much to do...the sea aquarium, Ripleys Believe it or Not, the cemetery, watch the sunsets with a drink n the pier, and if you love to snorkel they have boats that will take you out, as well as fishing. Not much of any beaches there because of the coral, but I do believe key West has a little one. Each key going down is completely unique, and if have the time, try and stop and see them all on the way down. You maybe lucky and spot a key deer or some huge iguana's or capybaras. Look to the sky for flocks of wild quacker parrots....they start in the Palm Beach area and south. You have to try the key lime and the conch fitters and any catch of the day. I could go on and on. Key West is artsy and pretty "free". In the evening much body paint and night life going on for all, daytime you will see a lot of topless sun bathers. The "Conch Republic" sort of does their own thing. Have fun, bring a lot of money, everything is very expensive because they have to ship it all down there. Let us know how it went |
