Oh My! That would be my worst fear. I am glad he will be okay. You should try and get a fence or electronic fence maybe to keep him safe. Speedy recovery! Chasing deer is very illegal in many states, and may run across the wrong person and they get shot which would be tragic. Poor Romeo!
