wind is blowing away from us. Acreage burned grew to 19000 early this afternoon after the wind picked up. I'm sure it's more now. Residents just received mandatory evacuation orders. Meanwhile, this early afternoon a car fire started a major brush fire at Lake Cachuma right behind Santa Barbara. Roads are closed. MANDATORY EVACUATION an hour ago for campers and residents.
It's triple digits here. Tomorrow should be cooler. PG&E said the towers are still up around the Tepesquet area, they are serviced by metal towers. Our power is via wood poles. if we had a fire here, our poles would be down for a long time.
We have an evacuation plan in place, and the gas tank is full for our get away. We will check into the Red Cross emergency facility at the high school if suddenly the wind changes directions.
For now we are good. Lots of ash, oppressive air, I just started taking antibiotics and anti congestion meds, so trying to stay cool and sleeping between old movies. Drinking lots of water and eating fresh fruits and veggies.
