If Sweetie is not used to a kennel, that is more stress. If she is house broken, I'd let her run the house and introduce the two dogs sooner than later. I would have taken a different approach actually while the old owner still there and let them play and adjust to see a connection going on a few times before actually taking her in.
It's not fair to anyone if they fight, especially since she feels abandoned already. They are very smart dogs, and I am sure she will be finding her way back home a few times. She doesn't understand what happened. Breaks my heart.
Best way to introduce is on neutral territory like a park or shopping mall or someplace like that, then take them home together to play.
You may want to try and keep the neighbor's huskie out of the mix for while, may be just too overwhelming for her.
