And I just PICKED UP THE PHONE, spoke to a CA notary who lost her home, everything. She said they have moved into an apartment and are trying to get mattresses, a TV and other items. They had Insurance; but she told me that she doesn't even have the clothing to go on any notary signing assignments - and is hoping there might be something left at the dry cleaners. Difficult & unfortunate situation. Just hearing from someone and knowing that she cared meant the world to this family of 3.
I've offered my help (limited, though it is) through NR supplies. I will also see if staff will also allow for a TX (or FL) notary impacted by the disasters to get a "complimentary" item or two should one place an order. |
