That is correct, Yoli. There are a lot of areas still on fire in steep terrain, and engineers are working to have the fire burn into itself and into previous burn areas where regrowth is greener.
I think this Thomas Fire event has provided much new information about how to monitor, follow and direct the fires in mountainous terrain. More homes could have been lost. |
