group plan it's not that great. I have Ameritas through Physicians Mutual. It does help, since dental costs, like medical costs, are out of control.
I ended up changing dentists because the one I was seeing for many years was just too expensive. Who has $3K per tooth for a root canal & crown??
Like most insurances, there's a waiting period for full benefits to go into effect. That annoys people, but the whole point of insurance is not for people to wait to buy it until they have a major expense.
I do pay about $44/mo. for an "enhanced" coverage that pays about 50% of most procedures. I've reached an age where my expenses are pretty high so this helps.
