Avila's water comes right out of the mountain at 104 to 110. There is a water exchange system there that heats the large Olympic size swimming pool nearby. People come from all other the world to use the hot springs. Many very interesting, health-minded local individuals also frequent Avila Hot Springs.

There seem to be many more hot springs on the western portion of the US due to volcanic activity. My brother and I frequent a great many of the springs on trips. One of my favorites is Glenwood Hot Springs in CO, where Doc Holiday resided and finally succumbed to lung disease. The Springs gave him a lot of relief.
