Brother or HP Laser Jet printer...???

Which brand of printer is more reliable: Brother Laser Jet or HP Laser Jet?

You'll get mixed reviews, but I prefer Brother and found it less troublesome than HP.

I use 3 different Brothers, oldest is about 5 years old with over 125000 pages. If your inclined Brothers are very easy to work on and inexpensive. I refill my own toner off ebay, (7000) pages for about $10-15$ same with the drum units, very inexpensive and sometimes you can find the roller and just change that. I even changed a Fuser that I obtained from ebay for under $100.

I think the HPs may be better printers but for the money and if your willing to take on some of the maintenance yourself you would come out way cheaper with the Brother.

Brother is doable and they have generic drums you can replace for cheap you can install easily yourself on certain models. You can purchase cheap toner that lasts just as long as the Brother toner. I use the $129 Brother laser models. It's a good value. Not fast and doesn't have two trays, but I get around it.
