Celebrating 10 years of service & all invoices paid :)
In these tough economic times, I consider myself lucky to have been around for nearly 10 years and to have all invoices paid. I cringe when I read about foks being stiffed on their payments. My heart goes out to you. And the longest it took to be paid was around 66 days for this company that I never worked for again!

Congrats...I would say that's an accomplishment (something I will never be able to do. I got stiffed my second year). To early for bubbles good for you!

Re: James, did you ever collect the judgment?
It is nearly impossible to collect a judgment without going into big time expenses. For example you can attach cash register receipts but it has to be a business open to the public with a physical location. Business banking account numbers are almost impossible to get without inside help
. Right now I am out of $215.00 plus two years of knowing I got xxxxxx and didn't get a kiss. The good thing about it is I can say what ever I want about them because it's true and they cannot do anything about it. If you want to lend me $5,000.00 I have grounds for a civil suit and when I win I will ask for everything including their dreams..name your price?

Someone who works for them can copy their check for you?
Wouldn't that be a gas?

Re: James, did you ever collect the judgment?
Been there done that! Everyone here recommends going to Small Claims Court (including me, if you are in the same state as the people what owe you) but that’s the EASY part. Collecting from crooks and deadbeats is tough. Most are judgment proof. Meaning they have virtually no assets, or if they do have assets they are well hidden. (Out of state, other names, kids trust, etc.) If they have assets that are out of state, the judgment you do have must be perfected by the issuing court, then you need to get a “sister-state” judgment issued by the out-of-state court, along with a writ of execution directing a local Sheriff or Marshall to enforce the judgment. Such out of state “sister-state” judgments’ must be applied for/filed in a particular local court (as in a Superior Court NOT a small claims court) when applying an “authenticated” copy of the original judgment must be attached along with fees. After filing the application, the creditor (you) must give the debtor (deadbeat) notice (have him served again) of the filing. Does this sound easy? Does it sound like it’s worth doing to collect $125? I can tell you it’s not. That is precisely there are so many deadbeat SS and title companies out there stealing from notaries every day. They do it because we have virtually no recourse against them. Who here can spend thousands to collect (maybe) hundreds? JMO

Congratulations BossLadyMD and all those that are
in a similar situation. I only have one invoice that is over 30 days, but under 60 days. The longest period of time was 4 months; I did not enjoy taking on the role as a collection agent, but I got results.
