Collateral Assessment Report (CAR) inspection
Has anyone completed a Collateral Assessment Report (CAR) inspection? I received an e-mail regarding this and the fee was $10.00. The description was "Visit subject property within the next 48 hours (when convenient for you), answer a couple questions, take 3 photos all from the street/curbside of the property".

Does $10 even cover gas?

Thanks everyone. I did a search on google to find out what kind of inspection this was. I just wondered if anyone has or is now doing these inspections and if $10.00 was the norm.

Are they f#@&ing kidding! Hang up! Let them find some other sap. What about gas, or are you supposed to take your pogo stick to the client.

You know..this is ridiculous...
In the last month we've had to have service calls made for our hot tub and our well...
For the hot tub, "standard service charge" was $85 - just for him to come to the house...
For the well, "standard service charge" was $95 - same thing - just for him to come to the house...
Guess we're not entitled to be paid for time, travel and "service"..
$10?? Ugh..

Re: You know..this is ridiculous...
Their mindset for paying this ridiculous fee is,....."you can do this while on your way to or coming back from your signing"....is my understanding. Gheez!

Re: You know..this is ridiculous...
Are these people calling not being paid at least minimum wage? It takes time to drive out, snap 3 photos (even if it's from the curb), drive back and complete the documents. And $10 for the time spent would be less than minimum wage rates.
