Geniune Title (MD) is alive and kicking...

I was under the impression that they were going by Safir now. But they just called for a signing and I shared with her that they still have a horrible track record. I did one assignment from him years ago and he is a total jerk who talks nasty to you, especially women (must be a culture thing). I also shared with her that I'm surprised they have been able to stay in business this long.

There's Genuine Title (as we know) then there's

Safir Signing Agents - a signing service....both listed in SC...neither one very flattering..

Re: There's Genuine Title (as we know) then there's

Thanks for the clarification Linda. They've apparently split into two companies.

As far as I can remember from what has been posted here, Konstantin Safir works for Genuine Title and he started an in-house signing service that secured all the notaries for Genuine Title. They have called me numerous times, but I have them on caller ID and I just send to VM.

Konstantin Safir has said in the past that he is the owner of "Genuine Title Settlement Services” working under the “umbrella of Genuine Title”. I think he’s now changed that to “Safir Signing Agents.” I would guess that Genuine Title doesn’t want problems with the MD insurance regulators, so they let Kosty cheat us notaries? Different name same thieves. JMO

"(must be a culture thing)"

Agreed, he's spent far too much time dancing under a fig tree.

In the SS business not paying the notary increases your bottom line something like 500%.
Thats how. JMO

Called me just the other day and just let it ring. I don't even waste my time answering.

That is so true Les...I must have had a brain fart........not paying your vendors will definitely increase profits.

They called me earlier this week as well

Shannon needed an application signing completed and tried to tempt me by promising to give me the closing too.

I declined and cited their poor payment record.

Re: They called me earlier this week as well

I did an application signing and was promised the closing but got stiffed on the closing. When I arrived for the application the people didn't even know what was needed in advance and barely knew I was coming and there were many documents they needed to furnish which they weren't told about in advance. I waited 2 hours for them to find all their stuff. Called Shannon and asked for xtra $'s due to extra time and she oked it, but I never received it. Same old, same old.

There's a lesson here..

"When I arrived for the application the people didn't even know what was needed in advance and barely knew I was coming and there were many documents they needed to furnish which they weren't told about in advance. I waited 2 hours for them to find all their stuff"

This is why I ask for a list of required documentation in writing from the hiring party; then when I make the confirmation phone call I advise the borrowers what I need to pick up to return with their application. Ask them to write it down - just a form of preventative maintenance. If they still don't have the documentation ready, I won't sit there for 2 hours waiting for it - they're given the numbers for their LO (phone and fax) and I tell them to make sure they get these things faxed to him/her asap in order to process the application. Call from the table, cover letter/note back to LO advising that docs aren't ready and will follow, with confirmation e-mail of that fact and it's covered - or at least I am..
