Has this happened to anyone?

The LO called sent me & the escrow office an email, that I was going to be the loan signer for his loan. I called the EO to introduce myself & to let her know I would be doing the signing for the LO's borrowers. She told me she would call me when the loan docs were ready to be picked up. It could be before 5 or next morning. I called the borrowers to let them know what was going on, and they told me to call them once, I knew when they were going to sign.

Well, at 4:40pm, the EO called me to let me know the borrowers were signing at her office already. I didn't know how to react to that, since it had never happened to me. I told her, she was suppose to call me when the loan docs were ready, since I was the loan signer assigned to that signing. She said since the borrowers lived close by their office it was easier for them to sign there. I told her fine, and I was going to call the LO.

In my opinion, she could have called me to let me know what was going on and I would have gone to their office to sign them. She took it upon herself to make that decision. I called the LO and he was very upset. He couldn't believe the EO did that and didn't bother calling him to let him know what was going on. He apologize to me and told me, he will make sure this never happens again. He was going to call the EO the next day to give her an ear full.

I am sorry, I had to vent. This really upset me Frown

Similar thing happened to me between a well known SS and a particular bank. I was given a contract. When docs were late and I checked on them I was told the signing was given to someone else. No explanation. When it happened a second time and I complained I learned this bank had their favored notary they were using. I was ready to drop the SS but they said it wouldn't happen again and it hasn't. It's been over a year and I've received several closings from this SS with no problems. Makes you feel like courtesy and respect have gone out the window, without commenting on lost time and $$$ when that time slot could have been given to some other job.

Cold out there, isn't it? I could write a book on scheduler's and their trials and errors. Grin and bear it, probably will get worse. The best thing you can do is get to know the LOs as well as you can, and be their official go-to-notary!

I know the LO very well and have been doing signings for him for about 6 months. This had never happened with any of his deals. I hope it doesn't happen again. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it Smile
