Just dodged a bullet, thanks Notrot!
Equity Settlement Services, Inc They called me (Greg O'Neil) after I refused assignment and told me they never heard of NotRot. I told them I use Notrot to screen my assignments, they should check it out to!

Fortunately for you, you have that new career, and don't
have to worry so much about EOM & how crazy it gets. :-)

I don't have that career yet...and still have to
worry about the income - not giving up my business yet...

Linda, I'm with you. I tell the deadbeat exactly why I decline their offer. I will mention Notary Rotary, their star rating, and what the Notary "reviews" say about their company (i.e. you don't honor your contracts by paying Notaries who've successfully completed signings with your company). If the caller counters with "Oh, those Notaries are the problem, they're just disgruntled". My response is, "The reviews show 1 star and nonpayment dating back to 2008 - and all of those reviews are from disgruntled Notaries?? Sorry, not buying that...good luck, you'll need it. <click>"

Had a slow-no- paying company just call me for a signing on Sat with faxbacks (LOL offered $90 for the signing). Checking them out while on the phone with them. Uh, it's a "not available" for me.
Thanks NotRot!

I agree w/ all comments. NotRot has saved my buns also. I
definitely agree tho' that we shud start telling these deadbeats/ scumbags EXACTLY why 'we're not available' - they'll just keep dialing 'til they find a newbie (I was an SA for a couple of years before I heard of NotRot). They need to clean up their act or better yet - get outta tha biz altogether!

Same here, only it was Nationwide Signing Service in AZ. Called me at 1:15 to do a signing where the docs had to be faxed back and dropped by same day! (FedEx and UPS last pick up is 5:00) So they want me to stop what I'm doing, run home, print, drive like speed racer, go back home, fax a bizillion pages and meet the drop off deadline. For a 2-STAR company that I'll never get paid for. Oh, and $125 was too much for them. Good luck with that!

Been doing business with Equity for ten years
Past payments within 2 weeks, the last year it has been 30 days. Never had an issue my only issue ever had docs tend to come last minute.

when is the last time you checked how many notaries
are within ten miles of you? Not to mention twenty miles.

500 in my zip code, 2000 in my town
Equity does not use NR to get agents unless they could not find any from there current data base.
Only two TC's I will not work for and both have payment issues but I know people who get paid every month by them.

I was relying on the imfo avail to me here
two premium members, three basic. I am not privy to what's in their data base. My point was however that there is a definite relationship bEtween the number of numbers in a particular area and the payment issues being expressed by posters here on NR. IMO
