Just starting
I'm just getting started in South CA any pointers would be great.
Was a loan Signer in late 90's when the banks did it and I was employed by Home Savings.
Just took a certified signing course, but need to get started out on my own, and any links or company recommendations or pointers for my area would be greatly appreciated.

Doc Pros Inc, in Murrieta is a good company. The pay isn't much (like most signing services) but they pay withing a couple of months. Finish Line Signing in northern California is not too bad. I have an issue with one of the reps there...(seems like she has a bad attitude) But overall an ok company.

I, for one, can't do this much more...but here we go...
1. Msg #33325 - it's a bit dated but has been added to and there's good info there.
2. What have you been doing for the past 12-15 years? Did you stay in the mortgage/escrow business? If so you surely must have some "golden opportunity" contacts that can help get you off the ground.
3. Have you done your research as to supply/demand? Click on the Find-a-Notary tab above, insert your zip code and see the extent of your competition in your zip code - note these represent just the notaries that are listed here - there are probably far more listed elsewhere...
4. Don't give up your day job yet.
5. Go to Signing Central and start working down that list. Read comments and posts about the companies - and BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ.
Give this some heavy, serious thought - now is not the time to make a leap of faith into this business - unless you have a niche that will feed your business - in which case you really don't need us at all..
Good luck.

Check out the payment reputation of companies in the Signing Central section of this website. Don't be afraid to turn a job back if you discover you've accepted a job from a non-payer. They will not make an exception for you regarding their payment practices!
