Scanning & Faxing?
How do you send back scanned documents when you the company won't let you email them? I have a MFC Brother and dedicated fax line and I would like to get rid of a phone line and the expense.
I read the post below and I am curious.

Online fax service. You send it through the service as an attachment on an email. Mine is MyFax and it costs $10 a month

I also use Myfax. Cheap and does the job.

Joan, go to message #385205 and read that thread. It was most valuable to me. You can get incoming fax through NotRot, and one poster suggested a method of faxing out without a dedicated fax line also.

Do you use your cell phone as your exclusive phone and you wish to eliminate all landlines altogether? Or do you have two land lines, one dedicated to the fax machine and one as the home phone and you want to eliminate one of those two lines?
I also have a MFC Brother. I do not have a separate line dedicated only for faxing. I have one phone line that services both the MFC Brother and my home phone. When someone sends a fax, it is a different tone and signal than someone just calling the phone number as a regular call and the fax comes through just fine.

Thanks
I got rid of my home phone 2 years ago, but before that I had 3 phones: cell fax line home phone
Now, I have cell and dedicated fax line and I guess I am more comfortable with having an old answer phone with with an actual phone attached to it. No one ever calls me on it and the only faxes I receive are for "trips to the Bahamas, Health insurance/etc and they are only 1-2 a month.
I guess I am old school but it certainly cost me more than the $10 to scan and fax that myfax.com cost.

I have had good luck with MagicJack. I use it for all L D calls including outgoing FAX's on my Brother MFC. I keep one land line only for emergency and the fact that I take my volunteer request calls on it. I have had recent FAX backs that took close to an hour to complete! Some companies do not have a #800 for FAX back.

I looked into MagicJack and it said that it was not good for faxing... Do you have to have an existing landline to use it? Maybe I just don't understand, but since everything is so expensive in Hawaii, I really do not want to get a landline just for faxing out. I have a Brother all-in-one and would love to use MagicJack just for faxing and no landline for any reason.
