Sylvia, Then you are a lucky one. I have made 5 calls and sent One email, and two Messages via their contact us link. I have been trying to get a situation cleared up since Jan. 10th. I have been promised a call back the same day 5 times by two different people. I never received a response from the email or contact us link. I was apologized to on the fifth time i called and told "I promise I will call you back today" she did not call back. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth and I am not happy about it. My clients and my clients customers are my number 1 priority, after all they are what keeps me in business. I don't think a prompt response is asking to much. In any case, I am sure others have had wonderful experiences with them NR, however, my experience with them has dissapointing, which is why I dont want the hassle of wasting my breath.

I am pretty sure you would also need permission to use the Notary Rotary logo on anything.
I have been a member on here since the beginning and have never had a problem getting a response from Harry or Traci, except a delay when they were moving to a new building.

I am pretty sure that they do monitor the board and will probably see this thread. (This being a weekend they may be relaxing)

Thank you sylvia, I am aware of that. In every organization, association or membership I belong to as part of our paid membership we are given access to add their logo for our websites, business cards, etc as a way of proudly displaying our membership and by doing so also advertises for them and brings more members to them. I just wanted to know if it was available on the site as a download or copy link, like most are. if not that's fine, I just asked.

You recommended I contact them via their contact form. Thats fine, except, my previously issue with them that has not been resolved/corrected yet, and that has been a challenge for me to get help with as I mentioned, so I am reluctant to request help with something else. I am not sure hat you mean that they do monitor the board and will probably see this thread? I would hope that they do. Is that suppose to worry me?

Dawn,
I see Harry has replied.
I said that they monitor the board and will probably see this thread, not to worry you, but to let you know that they would probably respond to your request for the logo.

I got my business cards through Notary Rotary and am very happy with them. Not being a Premium member I had to pay the higher price, but they were worth every penny and much better quality than the ones I bought through a cheaper company and the service was very fast.
I have always found both Harry and Tracy to be very responsive and Grif was also super helpful in helping me with the business cards.

Dawn -

Traci will visit with you tomorrow yet again. From what I understand, recognizing that several low-limit policies are cheaper than a single high-limit E&O policy, you attempted to "save money" by buying multiple low-limit policies to reach the coverage amount you were looking for. $100,000 policies are more expensive per dollar of coverage because the bonding companies do not have an appetite for them. They do not want to write high limit policies because they're primarily in the business of bonds, not insurance, and $100,000 claims are painful.

After you purchased multiple policies, we contacted you to let you know it wouldn't fly. You then asked Griffin to issue a $50,000 policy, which he did, and you asked that all the other policies be refunded. Then you contacted us to say that $50,000 wouldn't suffice for your purposes and that you wanted $100,000 in coverage, with all prior policies cancelled and payments applied to the $100,000, leaving from four to six policies to adjust, flat-cancel, etc.

In our entire history, no one has made that many requests nor created that much work for us in connection with E&O insurance. You have changed your mind multiple times and we have been in constant contact with you throughout that period. Although our experience with you has been disappointing, Traci nonetheless is still working through everything to determine the best way to handle your very unique situation.

Harry, in all due respect, Traci never visited me to begin with, I had to chase her down, so the from what you understand is incorrect. Obviously notes were not made of my contact with them, and based on your comments I understand you are upset with me for posting my disappointment on this board. I appreciate your attempt to make me look bad, embarrass me and try to turn the tables to make it be all my fault. However, your scenario of why I did what I did, while it sounded good, was not the truth. Now, with that being said, I knew my $100,000 E&O policy was going to be expiring on 1/10 and I wanted to renew it, however, my business card that I use for all my business expenses was put on hold because someone got my card number and tried to make a large purchase on it, my bank became suspicious and put a hold on the card, until they issue me a new card, which takes about 4 days. The only other business acct I have is PayPal but I only has $100 available on it. I needed $104 for a $100,000 policy. I try not to use my personal acct for business so if I had to use my personal I only want to use a minimum.

Anyway, it cost $104 for a $100,000, $52.00 for a $50,000 and $26.00 for a $25,000. So I figured if I purchased a $50,000 and a $25,000 on Paypal it wont cost $78.00, and then I would purchase a $25,000 on my personal acct. that would give me the $100,000 I wanted. That would be 3 policies (not 4-6 as you said) So $52.00 plus $26.00 and another $26.00 equals $104.00. No bargain there! its the same as one $100,000 policy. Now, I was not aware at the time I was not suppose to do that, nothing on the site said I could only purchase one policy. So my bad, I now understand I should not have done it that way and for that I am sorry. Unfortunately, I found out it was wrong when I received the $50,000 policy and no others via email and a notation in the email that said i would get a refund. At the time I figured I'd better call NR and that was was I spoke with Griffin who informed me I could not order it that way and he would have Traci call me.

I waited two days, no call from traci, so I called again, he said traci was at the post office but would call me back today as she as she got in. No callback. I waited until the next day and called again. Griffin said she was not in but would take a look at, then he said He could take care of it today because he had nothing else to do and would call me back before the end of day. No callback from griffin. I called again the next day and got tracie, she apologized for "overlooking it" and for not getting back to me. Never did she indicate she was working on it, I inquired about just converting it to $100,000 instead of refunding the money if that would be easier and she said it should be not problem and she would call the insurance company and call be back that day. She never called me back, that was last thursday. So Harry, if someone who have just returned my call and said we are working on it and will call you when we figure it out because you really messed us up with this. I am an understanding and patient person but if I am pushed around I dont take well to that. In any case, its done, I ordered it that way and cant change that, but how do we fix it now? thats all i want to know. Dawn Kenny

Just a tiny bug in your ear, Dawn

I have been posting on this board for some years now, and read it regularly, if not religiously. I cannot say I have never seen Harry irked. But on those few occasions when I've detected a hint of irritation in his posts, they have always involved somebody who is not a regular on NotRot attempting to use Harry's board to promote their <competing> board.

It is way too late now, but I would recommend that the next time you wish to address a problem with the NotRot staff on the open forum, don't get snippy about it. And if Harry chooses to respond on the open board, I would strongly recommend that you not, in answering him, attempt to make him out to be a prevaricator.

Harry is not the only one that might not sit well with. There are hundreds of people on this board who find him and the other NotRot staff competent, supportive, efficient and extraordinarily helpful. I would say that we are uniformly grateful that he has our back.

Re: Notary Rotary Logo [Apology Enclosed]

First, an apology. You're right.

When I'm not at the office, I work primarily from an upstairs solarium in our house, which affords me the opportunity to work around the clock. When I read your message, I asked Traci, who was trying to sleep in the next room, what the deal was. ("Traci! What the frick is the deal with Dawn Kenny? She just posted on the board that we're not being responsive.") She responded by telling me that you'd purchased multiple policies totaling $100,000 in order to avoid paying the normal $100,000 premium. That was evidently an assumption based on the fact that in nearly every other instance like this, people have purchased multiple low-limit policies to save money.

Traci told me she and Griffin were working on it and that there were multiple $25k policies, a $50k policy and a $100k policy. She was not entirely sure which should be refunded and which should be kept, only that it's normally against our policy to allow multiple policies. She said the whole thing was a mess and I responded to you without actually looking at all the orders. My response was based on the information she gave me along with an assumption that you were in California or Florida, where $100k premiums are more than the sum of the parts. (It's late, I'm working on a thousand different things, and I didn't bother to check, which is entirely my fault.)

After reading your response, I reviewed the order history and found that everything is pretty much exactly as you described. While I see a large number of notes, this clearly has not been resolved, so here is what I just did:

1) Consolidated payments from the $25k, $25k and $50k policies onto the order containing the $100k policy, which was in "Pending" status.

2) Issued that policy effective 1/10/2012 and e-mailed it to you.

3) Flat-cancelled the first three policies.

Please look for the e-mail.

Next, to address your logo question... We should be releasing some minor changes in the next month or two. Among them is a new logo for linking. Here is the version for web pages:

We're still deciding whether to offer logos like this in any other form. (We've had requests for stationery, for example.) I hope this will work for now and, again, my sincere apologies for jumping the gun on my response related to your insurance.

I certainly know what it is like to be juggling 1000 balls at once, and I really appreciated your help in resolving this matter. Also, the Notary Rotary logo is awesome, I cant wait to proudly display it on my new website.

I hope you have a wonderful day my friend.

Yikes! That all makes my head hurt. I don't think I would

ever have imagined purchasing several policies.
BTW, I have only ever received the best of service from the folks at NR. I purchase my E&O insurance (they accommodate a specific date for renewal), notary stamps, etc. I usually get same day/next day service.

All's well that ends well. This is a perfect illustration

of how professionals solve problems - by communicating. Watching the parties each accept responsibility for their actions, coming to understandings, and plotting a way forward is a true thing of beauty, to my mind.

Many, many thanks and kudos to Harry and Dawn for so artfully demonstrating that old adage, 'to err is human, to forgive, divine.'

A proud day for NR, indeed.

Certainly suspensful, but I'm incredibly impressed with the

humility and professionalism Harry displayed. I have to agree with Hugh though. This is a huge undertaking and I'm quite sure they go above and beyond to meet our needs and address our issues. And quite honestly, I didn't appreciate having the forum used to solve a personal problem with the moderators of the site.

I certainly hope this doesn't set a precedence!!! No matter what the outcome, I felt it was none of our business and we shouldn't have been subjected to it!

No defense necessary, I am preemptively requesting others keep their issues associated with the moderators off the boards. It's very unnerving.

Of course this is how I personally feel. I'm sorry Dawn and am not attacking you. I just hope others don't jump on the bandwagon.
