lately docs all in letter size

Anyone else noticing this? I spent so much for my dual-tray laser--now I feel it's going to waste. Also have reams of legal sitting here.

Not the case here. Yesterday's was scanned all legal size. I hate that the mortgage and other letter size docs prints out legal and they will cut it off. Wast of paper.

All legal for me too.

Again, same here, all scanned in legal. At least half of my docs could have been scanned letter, but they probably find it faster to do all legal.

Interesting. It can't just be CA because I do loans for all over the country. Guess I've been lucky.

Not here, either ....

If I had to put a fraction on it I would say 2/3 letter, 1/3 legal.

One time, I did have a loan that printed all that way, but when I took a closer look, it was cutting off the bottom of the 1003 and most of the other traditionally legal size pages. Somehow, the box "Choose tray by page size" became unchecked and the printer defaulted to letter.

I am in California also, and the loan packages are mixed. Sometimes I will get a package for Chase all letter sized, but those are minimum compared to all signings.

99% All legal, but do not have a dual tray. Unless specified, all goes out legal.

I suspect you'll all find the the paper size will be a function of a combination of how the lender created them and how they get scanned in. I'm finding that most of the time those docs that started out as letter and got scanned legal size are coming from the title co. People are busy and/or they forget to check the settings. Just my guess...

I doubt that the state has anything to do with it. Even the recording requirements vary by county - and that doesn't even seem to influence some packages. Like someone else said, even when the county requires letter size docs, we sometimes see them scanned in legal size.

Overall I find I use less legal paper now then, let's say, 2 years ago. I have one company that sends packages all letter and some where only HUD and 1003 are legal.

Most of mine are just as you describe Frenchie - it is hard to go through the legal I have on hand.
