Dear Lender and Title Companies,
Since we are expected to work for less money, could you please prefill the dates and borrowers names.
Sincerely,
Your Dedicated Signing Agent

I'm talking about borrowers signature lines :)
isn't having them sign enough

Reply by Linda_H/FL on 11/21/13 4:37pm Msg #493593
?? All the loans I do the borrowers signatures are already
pre-printed under the signature lines..rare is the document that does not have borrower's name printed under where they are to sign.
And no - just having them sign ISN'T enough - especially for those signatures that are difficult to read..

Missing the point...
there are just blank lines, no pre-printed borrower name and no pre-printed dates. now that is lazy!

Instructions Read....
borrower is to print their name, date and sign

Well, thank you for the clarification... :)
on both issues - missing borrower name (which, IMO, is no big deal - just let them do it)
and the validation that Notary On The Go = CarolF/NC
I love it when everything comes together..

Re: You didn
Under the heading of grammar pet peeves (and in the interest of encouraging fellow notaries to sound more knowledgeable) it should be "One AND the Same", not "in". (It often says so right at the top of the page!)
Also, for what it's worth, on my list of important issues about our business that I feel need to be addressed, this one doesn't even appear. Not trying to pick on anyone, just sayin'...

I agree with you, Janet. There is a lot of nit-picking
about the industry going on. It's great to vent, but in light of all the major issues we're facing these days, I don't know that this will serve anyone well. IMO this kind of thing is working against us.

Re: You didn
Hehe... I know that I, for one, often have highly embarrassing typos. Why? Because I'm a terrible typist and I have vision issues that I don't always catch errors on the screen. Oh, well... it is what it is. What I've learned, though, is that little errors like that are easily overlooked when the message is clear enough and the voice of the writer is such that it conveys authority.
I've also learned, too, that some of those common errors are also very TELLING about the individual because they they don't just convey bad typing but poor grammar and critical thinking/writing skills. There's actually a big difference.

Carol you are also Notary on the Go?
I thought it was against the rules to have 2 accounts, or 2 aliases. If it's ok, I'm going to get one as a dude this time (I'm really not of this earth).

Signatures that are hard to read are the BEST. Then you can't have anything kicked back. You can NEVER argue with someone on "their" signature. It's their unique mark...

Re: ?? All the loans I do the borrowers signatures are already
I partly agree with Exclusive Mobile Notary. If someone has a customary signature they can certainly use it whenever the signature line agrees with what they think they are writing, whether anyone else can read it or not. And for most purposes, if they sign something with the intent of executing it, it's a valid signature even if what they wrote doesn't exactly agree with the name as typed in the document. I really couldn't say if there are any situation where a document with the typed name "John Doe" and a legible signature "Jack Doe" would be invalid.
But I don't think a person is OBLIGED to always use the same customary signature. If someone wants to write an illegible scrawl on one occasion and a signature that would get an A+ in penmanship class on another occasion, I think that's valid (even though it may arouse suspicion).
