Do we need to tape a BGC to our forehead before going out?

Got an email today reminding me to send in my NNA or Sterling background check so that I can work for a company that may or may not call me and due to the upcoming changes in the industry may or may not accept in the future. It doesn't matter that I have a current BGC through notrot OR that I work for a bank and have random BGC's Or that I'm licensed with NMLS which requires a criminal BGC with fingerprints. Hopefully these "upcoming industry changes" will have everyone on the same page but until then - No More BGC's for me!

I have been hesitating to upload copy of my bgc on SS site - even though I did block out the ssn; but it still has pages of personal info (previous addresses) I don't feel anyone is privy to. I've never gotten the NNA's bgc - but from what I read here it's a Pass/Fail certif. Much less discomfort in sharing with SS.

NNA BGC Certificate IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I am outraged.

Not good enough. Neither is the BGC symbol on the NNA findanotary site. Nope. Gotta send the whole freakin' BGC report. To every TC, SS who thinks they need it. And then they probably will also ask for a release letter so they can share it with (I haven't figured out all the Whos involved...nor the number of places this can be stored where WhoKnowsHowMany have access) AND absolve them from any liability or claim should your NPPI be misused by one of the (hundreds/thousands? I dunno) of people who have access. Who watches the watchers???

Why doesn't Graham Leach-Billey Act protect us as much

as it does the borrowers. Personal info is personal info, right????

Re: Why doesn

One would think so, but apparently 3rd party service providers (us) seems to equate somewhere around the level of 3rd class citizen--whatever that could possibly mean. I personally believe that I could rent a billboard near my home and put my whole BGC on it in 2 ft. tall letters and it would be seen by less people than if I sent it to one SS or TC...who 'shares'.

I supply my NotRot BGC. If that is not good enough for them they can hire someone else. I sign for many SS and T/C's that are not that specific on whose BGC I have. I do not miss the business form those that only accept XYZ's. Amazingly, they will still call me to do the "cleanup" after the fact.

Two or three days ago, I received one of those requests for the full BGC report, supposedly because the big clients require it. I asked the SS to please send me a copy of their correspondence from the big client, to help me understand the reasoning behind their need for such info. No responce received, yet...........

I just chuck those to the spam folder.

I have a bgc and they are welcome to the certificate, but not to the whole report, but only when I accept a signing from them. I'm not sending any of the yahoos emailing those requests a thing.
