Re: Average Loan Signings
Varies from a low of 90 or so to 130. At 200+ plus faxbacks, you better believe more $$ is involved. Materials and table time. One size does not fit all.

Absolutely! I charge $15 for anything over 140 pgs.,
another $15 over 180 pgs., and $15 for faxbacks. There's no point in letting them abuse the situation & take advantage of those large pkgs. at your expense.

Re: If a package gets over 150 pages
I start to think of charging more - maybe $10, over 180 pages add $15 to the original fee. Fax backs are really worth $25 including the time to sort out the pages to be faxed back, the actual faxing back, the double driving now that the fax back is done and I need to drop off the package; but the most I have been able to get is $10. I have held to my $100 fee structure and as a result the number of closings I am currently getting is very low, so I am not as bold on pricing as some of the posters on NR claim to be because, frankly, I need the work and I am in a very competitive area.

I charge more if it is over 150 pages (extra $15). I charge an additional $20 for pointless faxbacks (and they get the whole package -- easier than me than sorting it out). I will faxback without charge if there is a good reason. For example, I fax the HUD back on most of my purchases without charge. This is my signal to the TC that the closing has been completed and I am disbursing (if I am disbursing).

Wow, you need different clients. I've had maybe one or two packages over 200 pages in my whole career as a signing agent since 2005. Mine tend to be around 100 pages, varying about 30 pages plus or minus. My experience has been that the biggest packages generally come from lenders and SS/TC that are not fun to work with, demand a lot of extras, and pay the least.

I'm curious who he's disbursing for..and in what
capacity. NO notary or signing agent should be disbursing ANY loans.

Yes, on both. More work & time requires compensation.
Would you ever think of asking an hourly employee to work for free off the clock? They are trading hours for dollars -- it is the contract they have made with their employer.
NSA's are not hourly employees, but we are trading time, knowledge, skills, and many other things, for dollars as well -- it is the contract we make with our customers. Where does anyone get off expecting professionals to work for free (or "off the clock for no pay")?
