Where's the Champagne?

It's never felt less like celebrating being a notary than this year!! Lots of bumps and grinds. Too many shysters on the playing field. Gotta watch your back constantly. Thank God for NR and SC. I've always loved being the gotonotary in my community. I'm into my 11th term as a California notary Public. We've got a helluva lot of challenges ahead of us in the coming months.

Remains to be seen how many of the seasoned, knowledgeable, professional and politically correct notaries stay in the race going forward with all the new compliance issues we're facing now, good/bad/ugly.

I'll celebrate any way, here's a toast to all the hardworking, diligent, knowledgeable notaries I've had the pleasure of meeting and blogging, conferring, cruising, breaking bread, wine sipping, and working with. It is the best job I've ever had, after corporate life for many years.

Think I'll hit the spa later!

I have a Facebook page for my business. On pages, you can schedule a post in advance, and several weeks ago, I scheduled a "Today is Notary Public Day. Hug your favorite notary!" to post this morning from my page.

Imagine my surprise when I received a notification that a friend had posted, "Hugs!", and several admirers "liked" the post. I had completely forgotten today was our day.

Happy Notary Public Day, fellow notaries. I raise a glass to you all. I have learned so many things here, and I am grateful for you all, even if I've never met you or spoken with you.
