Regarding fees
Does anyone put the notary fee and travel fee on their journal or just the notary fee?

The CA notary journal requires the notary fee as part of the documentation of notary services.
The travel or service fee is best written under other information for tax purposes to differentiate the tax exempt or and tax portion of notary services.

I am in NJ. I do not list any fees in my Journal. I use a spreadsheet program for that. The reason I don't put fees in there, It is No-Ones business what I charge. Walt

I Va we don't have to charge for a notary act. I consider all my notary work free and all the fee to be clerical/Admin. Hence, I don't list the fee except when it's a private notary act for non loan documents.

I don't charge notary fees, just admin/print/courier fees. So I record my total fee in the journal just for my use, and have a note in the front of the journal explaining my fee policy.
