That's so interesting. It's easy to see where the
marketing is coming from.

This isn't surprising. I've been told by several people that they are sending some of their higher profile ambassadors and other cheerleaders out with talking points. Unbelievably, there are a ton of notaries who are still buying the load of manure being dumped on their doorstep.

Woops. Countrywide - that says it all. I wouldn't be
surprised if Amerikwest ghosts weren't around as well...
Xyx has morphed into a lobbying model under the vast regulatory compliance umbrella, and Notaries are their bread and butter.
While I fully support Consumer Protections, I deplore its exploitation for filthy lucre by people who don't include Notaries (who paid for this seat) at the very table that will determine compliance.

This is no surprise
The NNA hasn't tried to hide their involvement with the SPW - heck, the NNA owns the SPW web site, so you can't get more involved than that. This whole thing smells like a power grab.

They may become the ONLY approved signing for the SPW

And, it's interesting to note in Bulletin #2 appended to JMT's email that their BGC is already compliant with SPW standards. I thought the SPW was a work-in-progress. Yes, they certainly are in lock-step with SPW. Does not bode well for us whose feet qre on the street!

SPW? CT title insurance company never heard of them ...
And this from a VP whose national title insurance company is listed as a MEMBER of the SPW. Same response from another in-state title insurance company listed as a member. I even sent a link to the website. I was surprised that they hadn't a clue and did not care or want to hear about it.
One individual is part of a seminar on upcoming changes in the real estate industry; SPW will not be on the agenda or mentioned.
LOL. Each state branch and office to its own. Just because "branches" of national title insurance companies are on the SPW list, doesn't mean EVERY branch is on board - yet.

Yes, Bobbi, you're right: "- yet". I can see it now: They lock in the lenders first, and then everything after that trickles down until everyone is on board. Those who are not will be simply locked out.
