SPW website
I logged on to the wesite and found it to be a glorified Seminar for Notaries Public. Most of what the website provides is voluntary and it is fair to say, many, if not most of us know about the code of Conduct, insurance guidelines for our state Since it is voluntary, I see it as a money making opportunity for those involved - nothing more - nothing less. As a Notary Public, I follow California notary Law. PERIOD. It seems to me, this is designed for Lenders and others who originate loans. It is a glorified Site designed for Lenders; informing the lenders what to expect from Notaries Publics/Signing Agents.

Designed by Lenders and TCs for their benefit and to the detriment of NSAs. Hosted by a for-profit corp.--who paid for it, but has no vote--except that all the 'designed' hoops DO provide income to the 'host'. Kinda doesn't pass the smell test, ya' think?

Lee, I believe that the NNA is a non-profit organization and has since 1957.

John, here is a discussion from 2007 about the NNA. And this is Harry's answer - Msg #201469.

Thank you Doris. In my opinion, that was then and now is now. In my opinion, their connection with SPW is a for profit endeavor. It is easy to file the necessary paperwork with the IRS, and the State of California, to ask for clarification under the current way they are operating. It won't cost me a cent. JMHO
