 Re: Portable Wireless Laser Printer
Posted by VenturaCA on 7/29/19 10:31am

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Yes, I guess the issue of wireless isn't a factor these days as you can connect to a printer using your smart phone and an app or cloud and data versus wi-fi or use a laptop and a USB cable to connect as Clem mentioned, but it seems that it is difficult to find a portable cordless battery-powered laser printer, and so the alternative is a very compact wired laser printer, which brother has, but the trick would be finding an outlet to plug into if I didn't want to go the route of a pure sine converter or use the client's as ShooterClay said. My husband said that he has a small generator which would be powerful enough to run a printer, and if I set it on the edge of the van with the back doors open, the exhaust would exit the vehicle. Sounds like a lot of trouble just to avoid an hour's drive. I'll update you if I find a workable solution.

These days, I'm told Inkjet print can appear as good as Laser quality although it doesn't last as long, but if these documents are scanned right away, the longevity shouldn't matter. It's actually the escrow docs which I usually have to return home for because they are sometimes not ready in time for a later appointment, and I have an earlier appointment in the same area. Usually the Lender's docs come in in plenty of time to print them from my home office using my Laser printer. Because of this, I have asked the Escrow company that I work for if an occasional Escrow doc set could be printed with an Inkjet as I have found portable Inkjets. The problem with them is that the cartridges are only good for about one full loan package or maybe four sets of Escrow docs. With some of these portable printers, they have to be brought in and charged regularly.
