I need help with this thread (maybe cuz I'm trying to catch up after weekend)... glad for the info but In certifying a COPY, when are we ever "certifying" anything else?? I do think it's good to be cautious concerning the nature of certain documents, but since anything can be reproduced fraudulently the notary just attests to what is in front of him/her. What does "certified copy of the original" mean exactly?
We keep being reminded we're notarizing SIGNATURES not documents.
