Given the response here, I'm the one that was off-base.

I have contacted the Oregon SOS to get my official notary name changed, so I can order a new stamp to the name I prefer to use.

Still if I was so wrong, I wonder why I had no issues with the hundreds of my previous notarizations recorded in dozens of states and counties.
