In the state of Indiana, we are required to have a witness sign a certificate of proof. The witness prints his name and signs the document. The notary puts the venue and date and stamps. This attaches to the mortgage/deed. One certificate of proof is all the recorder needs. The law which passed July 1st is inane and will be overturned next year but until then it must be done. |
