You can, but I also need to look at my turns in the city, and if on the phone, it's hard to do with my phone. I'd be lost without my Garmin GPS. I bought a factory refurbished for $69.00 Amazon, full lifetime free maps. It tells you everything! I only use my phone app as a last resort for a too new community or something not found.
